So, I've tried blogs before, though I had little success until this past semester. I was studying abroad in Townsville, Australia, and it was a great way to keep everyone back home updated with my adventures. Now that I'm home, I hope that I can keep up the posts, aiming at having at least 1 everyone 2 weeks or so. We'll see:)
I just got back from Australia and my travels afterwords (Fiji and Hawaii) 11 days ago. I mainly sat at home and watched the last few seasons of LOST with my sisters. After running around, flying around and not getting much sleep, I just wanted to chill and do pretty much nothing. I know, lazy. Anyway, this week my family (minus the dad) has been at the beach. All I want to do is sleep in, lay out and read. My mom and sisters are wanting to do a lot, so I'm ending up with some nice alone time, which is nice but I feel like I've just been in a bit of a funk. I haven't really been doing much, except for studying like crazy for finals (ended up with an A and 3 Bs for my Aussie course...no clue how I got that A!), recuperating, traveling and doing more recuperating. Last Sunday I went out for the first time, but that was just to church and lunch in Anderson with some Clemson kids. I guess I just want to go out and hang with the Clemson gang. It's just a big change from hanging out with my JCU friends 24/7. I miss them!
On the bright side, I am going to head up to Clemson as fast as I can after we get home from the beach tomorrow. Some of the guys are heading to the lake for the day, and I really wish I would be home in time for that, but hopefully we can hang out and possibly go downtown. I'm officially 21 now and can do that. Exciting. Just got to get my t-shirt!
The biggest things coming up are me getting back in shape and find a job. I gained an astonishing 15 pounds in Oz...after already gaining a bit of weight at the end of last semester. I blame the deliciously evil Tim-Tams and Mars Bars and the lack of a gym. But I'm hoping that actually starting to work out and starting to diet will help me shed the pounds pretty quickly (especially since Aunnie's wedding is in 10 weeks! We're so old...). Also, the finding the job task is going to be a big one. On the plus side, I won't be doing band, so it'll make me a bit more employable...I really wish I would have signed on to be an RA again. That would've been the smart thing to do.
I can't wait to move back to Clemson and get back into the swing of things again. I'm anxious to see if anyone's changed (including myself) since I left. I have a feeling that I've changed a bit...but that was how I acted around my Aussie friends. I hope it spills over into "Clemson me," because I really liked who I was there. More confident and talkitive. We'll see, as I move into my new apartment, with my new roomates, 4 weeks from tomorrow!
